Fairhaven is a not-for-profit, faith-based, continuum of care community that offers maintenance free living in independent apartments and duplexes. Fairhaven also offers supportive living (similar to assisted living) and a health center for individuals that need more care on a day-to-day basis. Fairhaven provides a comprehensive approach to aging that encourages independence and helps manage health care when assistance becomes necessary. Additionally, we value the importance of offering choices for social engagement in one location. For some seniors, being pro-active and planning for their future comes easily. However, for many the thought of leaving home feels emotionally overwhelming or a medical emergency does not allow you to safely return home. Health Center Fairhaven offers a complete health center for those individuals that need more than supportive care (assisted living). While we offer this level of care to our current residents that may need more care, we also offer this level of care to people in the greater Rockford (and beyond) community. Fairhaven can offer therapy services to residents on-site here in their home through our partnership with Aegis Therapy.   These services can be billed most often through Medicare and supplemental insurance.    Many residents need continued therapy following or instead of a short-term rehabilitation stay.  Additionally, if any of our residents experience a health decline that affects their ability to maintain their current level of care, therapy is available to help restore their previous function.   Listed below please see the therapy options that can be provided and the benefits these offer to those who live at Fairhaven.     Because of Fairhaven’s reputation for quality care, there are times that individuals choose Fairhaven for care following an acute injury/illness. Fairhaven is here to help with the right support at the right time to ensure that those we love and the greater community are set up to be safe and successful. Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center in Rockford, IL, offers a variety of Memory Care services. Our team receives specialized training in “Dementia Care,” to ensure residents receive compassionate, knowledgeable support each day.  Staff review training several times per year to understand the unique cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs associated with dementia.  Fairhaven has a trained CDP, CADDCT on staff that provides hands-on learning.  This training provides practical techniques for communication, safety, and person-centered care.  Through ongoing education and hands-on learning, our caregivers are equipped to respond with patience, respect, and empathy.  Here at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, our goal is to help each individual maintain dignity, comfort, and the highest possible quality of life in a safe and supportive environment. Q. Can Fairhaven manage and support memory declines that occur with diagnoses such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia or normal memory declines with aging? A. Yes, in most situations, Fairhaven continues to be an excellent option for life care considerations.   Our staff receives ongoing education as outlined above.  Fairhaven is a continuing care community, and therefore we are able to provide guidance and support with minimal declines in memory in one of our three supportive care units (similar to assisted living).  We are additionally able to offer extensive intervention when further oversight is needed to ensure safety and success in our health center.  The following information are some examples and practical ways that offering the right care at the right time can benefit those we serve at Fairhaven:    Supportive Care Health Center & Memory Care Our Health Center includes the above memory care services but can go beyond intermittent care to offer more services for advanced physical or cognitive needs.   The health center provides direct oversight with increased staffing to more closely monitor and offer quality care intervention.
